SNOW’s payback and rebates: how much actually comes back

A 5% weekly payback and a 0.2 to 1% rebate look like neighbouring numbers, but they attach to different things: one to money lost, the other to money staked. Keeping each tier’s caps and rates exactly as published, this sheet works out what share of the expected loss each one returns.

In this sheet
  1. Paid on losses, paid on stakes
  2. The loss at which the weekly payback caps out
  3. Share of slot expected loss returned
  4. Share of casino expected loss returned
  5. Two worked weeks
  6. Daily or weekly payback
  7. Amounts that accrue in dollars
  8. Settlement rules not published

Paid on losses, paid on stakes

Benefit Paid on Rate Cycle Conditions seen
Weekly payback Money lost (loss cashback) 5% on every tier Weekly Tier caps of ₩1 to 3 million
Daily payback Yesterday’s slot losses Not shown Daily Slots only; one of the two per week
Casino rebate Money staked 0.4 to 1% Weekly Excludes blackjack
Slot rebate Money staked 0.2 to 1% Weekly Rises with tier

A rebate is paid in a winning week too; a payback only matters in a losing one. They work differently, and neither stands in for the other.

The loss at which the weekly payback caps out

Every tier gets 5%; only the cap changes. The weekly loss at which 5% equals the cap is the cap ÷ 0.05.

Tier Weekly cap Weekly loss that hits it
Stone to Gold ₩1 million ₩20 million
Platinum ₩1.5 million ₩30 million
Emerald to Super Diamond ₩2 million ₩40 million
Master to Legend ₩3 million ₩60 million

Past that line, losing more adds nothing to the payback. A Stone member who loses ₩40 million in a week gets ₩1 million back, not ₩2 million: 2.5% of the loss.

Share of slot expected loss returned

On a 96% RTP slot, 4% of the stake is the expected loss. Dividing the rebate rate by 4% gives the share of that loss the rebate hands back.

Tier Slot rebate Rebate on ₩10 million staked Share of expected loss returned
Stone, Iron, Bronze 0.2% ₩20,000 5%
Silver 0.3% ₩30,000 7.5%
Gold 0.4% ₩40,000 10%
Platinum 0.5% ₩50,000 12.5%
Emerald 0.6% ₩60,000 15%
Diamond 0.7% ₩70,000 17.5%
Super Diamond 0.8% ₩80,000 20%
Master, Grand Master 0.9% ₩90,000 22.5%
Legend 1% ₩100,000 25%

Stake ₩10 million and the expected loss is ₩400,000 at any tier. Even at Legend, three quarters of it does not come back.

Share of casino expected loss returned

On a low-edge game like baccarat, the same rebate rate covers a much larger share of the expected loss; on the high-edge tie bet it barely registers.

Tier Casino rebate Banker (1.06% edge) Player (1.24%) Tie (14.36%)
Stone to Super Diamond 0.4% 38% 32% 2.8%
Master 0.6% 57% 48% 4.2%
Grand Master 0.8% 75% 65% 5.6%
Legend 1% 94% 81% 7%

Only Legend banker bets get most of their expected loss back. But Legend needs 170 million cumulative XP (₩170 billion in casino stakes), and the cost of getting there is set out in cost of climbing.

Two worked weeks

Silver, ₩10 million on slots in a week (96% RTP)

  • Expected loss: ₩400,000
  • Slot rebate at 0.3%: ₩30,000
  • Weekly payback at 5% (assumed on the full ₩400,000): ₩20,000
  • ₩50,000 back in total, ₩350,000 still lost: 12.5% of the loss returned.

Platinum, ₩50 million on the banker bet in a week

  • Expected loss: ₩530,000
  • Casino rebate at 0.4%: ₩200,000
  • Weekly payback at 5% (same assumption): about ₩26,500
  • About ₩226,500 back, about ₩303,500 still lost: around 43% of the loss returned.

In both weeks the payback is nowhere near its cap (₩1 million and ₩1.5 million). The cap only matters in a week that goes far worse than the expected loss.

Daily or weekly payback

The “loss cashback” panel on the VIP screen says you can take either the daily payback or the weekly payback in a given week, not both. The daily payback is for slots only and based on yesterday’s slot losses, but its rate column showed only a dash. With no published rate, there is no way to say which is worth more.

Amounts that accrue in dollars

Rakeback and loss cashback accrue in US dollars and are converted into the payout currency at the rate on the day you claim. The won amount shown with “≈” is an estimate at that moment. If the won strengthens between accrual and claim, you receive fewer won than the screen showed.

Settlement rules not published

  • The exact weekly payback formula (how net loss is defined, whether rebates are deducted first)
  • The day and time of settlement
  • The daily payback rate
  • Whether paybacks and rebates carry a wagering requirement

When any of these is published, the tables here will be reworked and re-dated.
