What a SNOW VIP tier costs: the expected loss behind each XP point

VIP tiers rise with the amount you wager and nothing else, so it is possible to work out how much a player should expect to lose on the way up. Using only the published XP rates and the studios’ stated RTP and house edge, this sheet prices one XP point and adds up the expected loss to every tier.

In this sheet
  1. Which bets earn XP
  2. Expected loss per XP point, by game
  3. What is left after the rebate
  4. Mixing games
  5. Running expected loss to each tier
  6. Set against the Silver stage rewards

Which bets earn XP

The VIP terms say XP comes only from bets placed with real balance that carries no wagering requirement. These bets earn none:

  • bets made with bonus funds
  • bets made with funds locked by a wagering requirement
  • free spins
  • bets whose exchange rate could not be confirmed (stated as possibly excluded)

Promotion happens the moment cumulative XP reaches the next threshold; there is no monthly review and no demotion. It also means the cost of XP already earned never comes back.

Expected loss per XP point, by game

Multiply the stake needed for one XP point by the game’s house edge and you get the average loss each point carries.

Game Stake per XP point House edge Expected loss per point
Slot (96% RTP) ₩500 4% ₩20
Slot (94% RTP) ₩500 6% ₩30
Baccarat banker ₩1,000 1.06% ₩10.6
Baccarat player ₩1,000 1.24% ₩12.4
Baccarat tie ₩1,000 14.36% ₩143.6
Sports about ₩333 not published not calculated

Slots earn XP twice as fast for the same money, but their house edge is nearly four times the banker bet’s, so a slot XP point costs almost twice as much. Sports margins differ match by match and can’t be reduced to a single figure.

What is left after the rebate

The rebate returns a fixed share of the stake whatever the result. Taking it off the expected loss per point shows what each point really costs at each tier.

Tier Slot rebate Net loss per slot point Casino rebate Net loss per banker point
Stone, Iron, Bronze 0.2% ₩19 0.4% ₩6.6
Silver 0.3% ₩18.5 0.4% ₩6.6
Platinum 0.5% ₩17.5 0.4% ₩6.6
Master 0.9% ₩15.5 0.6% ₩4.6
Grand Master 0.9% ₩15.5 0.8% ₩2.6
Legend 1% ₩15 1% ₩0.6

Even a Legend player on the banker bet still has a net loss above zero. At the most generous rebate, the expected value stays negative.

Mixing games

XP is worked out per game and added together:

XP = casino stake ÷ 1,000 × 1 + slot stake ÷ 1,000 × 2 + sports stake ÷ 1,000 × 3

A week of ₩500,000 on slots, ₩1,000,000 on casino games and ₩300,000 on sports gives 1,000 + 1,000 + 900 = 2,900 XP. That clears Iron (1,000 XP) but leaves 4,100 XP to go before Bronze (7,000 XP).

Running expected loss to each tier

The running expected loss from 0 XP to the start of each tier, playing one game only and subtracting the rebate earned in the tiers passed on the way.

Target tier XP needed Slots only (96% RTP) Banker only
Silver 37,000 ≈ ₩700,000 ≈ ₩240,000
Gold 140,000 ≈ ₩2.61 million ≈ ₩920,000
Platinum 430,000 ≈ ₩7.83 million ≈ ₩2.84 million
Emerald 1,300,000 ≈ ₩23.05 million ≈ ₩8.58 million
Diamond 3,700,000 ≈ ₩63.85 million ≈ ₩24.42 million
Master 29,000,000 ≈ ₩472 million ≈ ₩191 million
Legend 170,000,000 ≈ ₩2.66 billion ≈ ₩644 million

Reaching Legend on the banker bet alone takes ₩170 billion in stakes. The tiers where the rebate returns most of the expected loss sit behind hundreds of millions of won of expected loss.

Set against the Silver stage rewards

A Stone member’s “My rewards” screen lists the Silver I to III stage rewards. Each is paid once as a bonus, can be withdrawn only after its wagering requirement, and needs KYC approval to claim.

Stage XP Reward shown Net expected loss, slots Net expected loss, banker
Silver I 37,000 5,000P ≈ ₩700,000 ≈ ₩240,000
Silver II 50,000 6,500P ≈ ₩940,000 ≈ ₩330,000
Silver III 68,000 9,000P ≈ ₩1.28 million ≈ ₩450,000

Valuing 5,000P generously at ₩5,000 (the rewards are stated in won), it is still under 1% of the ₩700,000 expected loss of reaching Silver I on slots. The stage rewards mark a promotion; they do not pay for it.
